TBAI Times

Well, I'm back from TBAI.  It was a wonderful event, and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting all of the bear makers and collectors.  The level of workmanship at all of the tables was TRULY inspiring and amazing.

As much as I enjoyed it, I must admit to being "bear'd" out now.  I really expected to come home just buzzing with enthusiasm, ideas, and creativity.  Instead, I'm rather weary and fatigued--I've lost my zest.  I know it will come back to some extent soon, but I'm surprised by my lack of ambition.

I just ADORED meeting everyone at the show--I'll share some photos in one of my next posts.  While there, I even convinced myself that I must do a show in the future.  Since then, however, I've come to the conclusion that I'm just not cut out to do shows.  I appear to be barely cut out just to attend one!  Hopefully, I will perk up soon.

  1. Glad you enjoyed the show. Sounds like you currently have 'bear indigestion' though! So much to take in all at once, huh?! :o)

  2. Dearest Miss Cheryl,

Oh you are soooo wrong. You would be wonderful at a show. We LOVE your bears and that is that.

You have to just take that first baby step - that is all it takes. We have so much confidence in you.

  3. Good to hear you had a great time! I am sure you will be all go again as soon as you re-energize!!!
    Hugs Lindax

  4. Hi Cheryl,

One of the highlights of the show was meeting you in person. So charming and utterly delightful. I hope we didn't wear you out too, too much! Your smile and enthusiasm are much appreciated and I do hope most sincerely that it will not be the ONLY time I get to see you in person. Do take care of yourself and know that whatever path you choose you will always have an NC bear friend. And blogging friend too!

    great big hugs,

PS Your daughters are absolutely lovely. Nice to meet the hubs too!

  5. The show looked to be fun, but I'm not a shows type gal either, so I really understand. I also understand your current feelings. Your bears are wonderful, but you come first.
    Take care, my friend.♥

  6. I think your bears would look wonderful in a show, they are just gorgeous and a lot of people will like them.
Good to hear you had a good time there! I think it`s normal to feel fatigued after visiting a creativity show like this. A lot of new ideas and inspiration are now in your head, they need only a little bit time to come out ;-)

  7. " Bear Mojo" it's ok Cheryl, all will be well and you will find it again. Sometimes we need time out to recharge the creative batteries, then there will be no stopping you.

    Hugs Sandi xx

  8. Thank you SO much, everyone, for your supportive words! You are SO dear! It's really not that I wouldn't LOVE to do a show. And, in the end, I think my bears would sell okay at one. It's just that my fibromyalgia and doing a teddy bear show just wouldn't mix. I'm sure that I will go to more bear shows--I couldn't "bear" NOT to see you again, Ginger!!!! I just probably won't be selling at them.

    Heaps of Hugs,

  9. Aww, huggers! Maybe a lickle show would work for you? Well, less than several days anyway! I'm attempting my first one in November, guess I'll know soon enough if I'm cut out for them or not!

  10. I love what you do!!! You are so talented!!! It must be nice meeting others with the same talent and interest.
