I just finished cutting out 2 new bears today, so hopefully I will have some time to sew them up this weekend.  One will be a similar to Livvy only in pink (a custom order) and the other is a brand new design in a wavy, light honey (he may wind up as a Christmas gift for a dear one).   Unfortunately, I think I'm going to have to decline custom orders in the future.  I LOVE and appreciate that people like my work, but I find that, for me, custom orders drain my energy and sap my creativity, and it just takes way too long to get over the "hump" after it.

I've also finished one "elephump" and 2 bears in the past couple of weeks.  One bear has been sent to the auction for the Ronald McDonald house in Albany, NY that will take place later this month, but the other will be available for purchase soon.  Photos have been taken, but I haven't received copies from my photographer yet.  I'll try to get after him this weekend about it--the poor dear is just so busy lately that I hate to nag him about it.

It's SO nice getting some work done and feeling inspired again!

Heaps of Hugs,

  1. YOU, Cheryl, are an inspiration.

  2. So glad you are able to 'make' again. I reckon it takes me about 3 months to make a bear! I'm that slow, but I get there in the end! No pressure!

  3. I'm glad to hear you've found the inspiration to create again, Cheryl. I have the same problem with custom orders, I don't feel free, I'm tjinking the whole time: "would the custom like it?" and it's difficult to flow in this situation ;-).
    Lot of hugs
    Have a nice weekend

  4. Such great news that you are up and making again thank goodness!!! Your bears are so sweet I love them, something whimsical about them and they have personality written all over them too.
    Hugs xx Sandi

  5. Yay, so glad you're back into the bear making again! Looking forward to meeting your new creations :o)

  6. Hi ,

    Lovely bears!

  7. Cheryle..I know exactly what you mean...custom orders do the very same thing to me. I hate saying no to folks however, I really feel my creative spirit suffers and the end result is never as satisfying for me.

Wishing you a lovely day and happy creating :)
