Am I a Lucky Duck, or What?!

A little over a year ago, my friend Michele Seraphim from Seraphim Bears asked me if I'd be interested in doing a bear swap with her.  Well, I'll tell you, I'm not much of a bear collector, but I love Michele and I love her bears so this time I was game!

Since we both have busy schedules, we took our time creating our bears for each other.  So much time, thought, and love went into each of them.  We were hoping to meet in person to swap our sweeties, but in the end our schedules just couldn't come together and we opted to mail the bears to each other in late October so that they would arrive in time for Christmas.  I can't imagine a better early Christmas gift than sweet Earth Angel!

Isn't she just PERFECT?!!   I truly wish you could see her in person because although she looks simply wonderful in her photo, she's just SO much sweeter in person.  Her soft silky mohair.  Her cuddly weight (she's much heavier than she looks!).  Her amazing needle-felted pawpads in Michele's signature initials--M and S for Michele Seraphim.  Her vintage dress.  And those dreamy, dreamy ribbon flowers on her dress and headband in all the colors from our house--just PERFECT!!  As lovely as her bears are in their photos, I've come to the conclusion that no photo could EVER do Michele's bears justice because they aren't  3D, sensory, and "whatall"--technology would have to take amazing strides forward to touch the ethereal quality of her bears.  Seraphim Bears is such an appropriate name for her heavenly, angelic bears!
As for the bear that I sent Michele, I named him Corwin meaning "Heart's Friend"--I thought that was an apt name for my dear friend's bear.  Sweet Michele had her lovely hubby videotape her opening her bear.  It was SO special and such a gift to me!  I must admit that I was a bit worried when I saw the state the box was in as she started opening it--all squished and bumped about!  Thankfully though, Corwin was still safe and sound without a scratch.  The only casualty was that the poor dear had dropped his teddy while in his box, but his new mama quickly remedied that!

As for me, my box with Earth Angel arrived exactly at the time I most needed her as my health was acting up in November.  So my family encouraged me to forgo trying to videotape her grand entrance and just open up the box and enjoy my new bear while I rested on the couch.  Another day, Matt took a quick snap of me cuddling sweet Earth Angel.

I truly can't thank Michele enough for a bear that gives me such great joy and happiness.  Thank you, my friend!

Happy New Year!

Some of you probably remember that I'm a "quote junky."  With that in mind, I thought this was a nice quote to share with you today at the start of the New Year.  I don't know about you, but I "think" rather TOO much and this is a good reminder to me that I just need to let things go.  I am much better at this now than I was when I was younger and healthier.  However, I still could use a refresher course now and again.
I'm not one that makes New Year's Resolutions--I never have been.  I must admit though that I have some plans for this year, mostly health related, but they were spawned by events on our Christmas trip to Michigan.  If the same things were to have happened over the summer, I would have come home with the same thoughts and put them into action when I returned.  It just so happens that we have returned at the New Year.  So perhaps this is the first year in my foggy memory I can say that I actually have some New Year's Resolutions!
Thank you all for continuing to follow me on my silly little journey and I wish you all the best.  May this coming year be peaceful and full of wonder and love for all of you.
Heaps of Hugs,
