Thank you for understanding, Sandi and Heather. It's been a fun process, but it has been more work than I had envisioned.

Sandi, thank you SO much for that tip--that's a great idea! As I have been writing, I have been trying to keep the sewing skills of my youngest daughter in mind. She can sew a bit, but is not a confident sewer yet. I have a couple of friends who are new sewers; I'll have them read the pattern directions before I consider myself finished.

Yes Cheryl...it does take a long time to write instructions to a pattern and make it understandable to the lay person. It's much better to take your time and do it properly, rather than rush and have umpteen mistakes that confuse and make customers unhappy.
I cannot abide patterns that have poor or incomplete instructions.
A little tip that might help you...once it's done to your satisfaction, give it to a friend who is not an experienced sewer and ask her/him to read it through to see if she/he understands it before publishing it. Lay people often ask questions about things we assume they know and often take for granted.
